The adidas Bounce features a contrast of materials such as mesh uppers encased by steel-like metallic leather and of course also sets new boundaries in terms of technology, with its unique Bounce system in the sole.

Exclusive to Footlocker, the Adidas Bounce collection is in stores since this week and offers a strong line-up of different styles. We present them to you after the jump.Foot Locker launches its third collection of the exclusive cooperation with Nike: “Magnificent 7” is a collaboration that introduces seven classical Nike styles every season, each revolving around a certain theme that is brought to life in various designs. The current “Beijing” collection is inspired by the Olympic Games and its most prominent venue, the “bird’s nest” stadium in Beijing. Once again the sneakers are available as a limited edition and exclusively sold at Foot Locker.
We give you an in-depth look at the collection, as well as a lot of background information regarding design and concept.

Foot Locker is the most significant so far, but the chain is not the only victim of a rough economic climate. Other outfits are at risk for store closings, though 2010 is bound to be better than last year, which saw the demise of iconic chains like Linens ‘n Things and Circuit City.

Department-store chain Macy’s (M) will close stores as well this year. The retailer is shutting locations in Boise, Idaho; Waterford, Mich.; St. Ann, Mo.; Missoula, Mont.; and Burlington, N.J. Things are looking up, though, as Macy’s stores open at least a year recorded a one percent rise in December.

Pier 1 Imports (PIR) is in a similar situation. Things could be better, but things could be worse. Pier 1, which said it would originally close 125 stores this year, downgraded its target to 40 units.
